Shroud Lair In Enshrouded: Thralls of Twilight Update

Published on:

Enshrouded is an action RPG developed by Keen Games GmbH, released in Steam Early Access on January 24, 2024.

In this game, you play as a survivor, exploring forests, caves, and dungeons while fighting strange creatures and searching for powerful items.

One of the most dangerous challenges in the game is dealing with the Shroud, especially when entering areas like Elixir Wells and the newly added Shroud Lair.

What Is Shroud Lair In Enshrouded?

Shroud Lairs are new locations added to the game, but they are not the same as Elixir Wells. Many players wonder if Shroud Roots are inside these lairs, the answer is mostly no.

Community feedback shows that Shroud Lairs don’t contain Shroud Roots. That means you can’t clear the fog by exploring them.

Instead, these areas are designed for loot, mini-boss fights, and farming gems. Some players said they might have seen roots, especially in places like Revelwood, but most agree these reports are probably just confusion with nearby Elixir Wells.

How To Clear The Shroud At Elixir Wells?

To remove the Shroud from an area, you need to find Elixir Wells on the map. Once you reach one, you’ll usually encounter a boss.

Be careful, some bosses can defeat you in just one hit. After taking down the boss, look for a glowing tree.

Destroy this tree using your weapon. Doing this will clear the Shroud from that part of the map.

This is the main way to clean up foggy zones in Enshrouded. If you ignore the tree or lose the fight, the area stays covered in the deadly mist. So, always go in ready for battle.

Players’ Experiences In The Shroud Lair

Shroud Lairs are like mazes. Players say they get lost easily and the Shroud timer adds pressure.

One player even had to quit had to quit to the main menu because they couldn’t find a way out. Another escaped with just 30 seconds left on a 20-minute timer.

Even though it’s stressful, many players admit the design feels immersive and fits the world’s theme.

Some have also noticed that breaking enemy spawners can open up new paths. However, these usually lead to more loot, not to Shroud Roots.
