The Gold Specimen Goat quest takes players to the mystical lands of Dawncloud, particularly Amphoreus, home to the enigmatic “Demigod Council.”

This intriguing mission is all about the Golden Scapegoat, an artifact embodying information both mysterious and enlightening, which has gotten the attention of the Council of Elders.

Meeting The Three Researchers

Upon entering the Dawncloud, adventurers will meet three main researchers: Avilius, Lygus, and Diogena.

During their encounter, Lygus makes an unusual request to borrow a very potent item known as the “Heart of Cerces” from the Grove.

To do this, Lygus gives you a small device meant to interact with the Heart.

Navigating To The Grove Of Epiphany

After the first talk, the mission leads players to the Grove of Epiphany (Murmuring Woods), where you must insert Lygus’s device into the Heart of Cerces.

When in position, it will spring to life and cast its green light, somewhat like an LED.

At this point, Lygus says further instruction is unnecessary; he just tells them to “wait a while.”

After some minutes of waiting, the player sees the green light change to red.

There do not seem to be any further immediate effects. The data, it seems, can only be interpreted by Lygus, and so one must return to Dawncloud.

At the clearing, Lygus analyzes the data from the Golden Scapegoat and the information collected from the devices in the Grove.

The analysis takes an unexpected turn as soon as Lygus gets connected; clearly, something has gone wrong.

All evidence points to tampering with the Heart of Cerces, and the research has been thrown into total disarray.

While they would not recover from this sabotage, the mission nevertheless accomplished its purpose and players get rewarded with 5000 credits.

The players finish the Gold Specimen Goat mission after playing a major role in revealing information about the Golden Scapegoat and evidence of tampering, hinting at conspiracies of an even darker nature at play inside the Demigod Council.
