During the main storyline play of Tainted Grail, you enter the Liminal Realm, toward the end of which you begin the quest called “Lost in the Liminal.”

In this quest, you have to find and assist a soul who is stuck in the mysteriously dreamlike Liminal space.

Further, it can also open doors to discover the deceased’s story and help offer them peace.

Meet The Lost Soul In Liminal Tainted Grail

While you are in the dreamlike region, Liminal, you will see a ghostly child, Renard. When speaking with him, you will notice that he appears both lost and sad.

Further, he shares his past and shows his sadness and the feeling of being left behind.

Renard talks about his sister and the sadness of being forgotten, suggesting there is a tragic past related to them and the court.

His language is heavy with feeling because he is grieving and living in the unsettling zone of the Liminal.

Uncover Renard’s Story

Renard will slowly reveal life experiences when you listen to his stories.

He shares about his mother the Queen, his sister and her promise and then there is the midwife and lastly the whole group of servants at that time.

They demonstrate that difficulties and complications did exist in the past.

You can tell from what he shares that he doesn’t feel connected and that his past is keeping him from feeling whole.

Explore The Liminal Realm

This quest requires you to locate things or echoes that show Renard’s past memories.

Therefore, use the light and explore all the objects or apparitions in your path.

Recalling the past may produce images or sounds and these might involve the Queen, the midwife or Renard’s sister.

You also have to assist Renard in accepting what has happened to him.

At times, you may support him and at other times urge him to think differently. The strongest thing to do is to feel empathy and work with him to feel at ease.

Free Renard’s Spirit

As you progress, you will reach a climactic moment where Renard’s pain and regrets manifest.

Since the trauma is caused by obstacles, you must confront and get through them when you see them.

Use your best combat tactics if a fight ensues, or try to resolve the situation through dialogue if possible.

Once Renard accepts the truth, he will thank you. As soon as you defeat him, his spirit is released and you get some of the rewards, like experience, items or part of the story.

Finally, reach Renard and then follow the same path back to the exit of the Liminal and end the quest.
