“Easy Riders,” the second main quest, starts after “Last Rites” in the Trosky region and introduces key gameplay mechanics and characters.
The quest begins with the player riding alongside Sir Hans Capon and his bodyguards. While riding the horse, you will enter a cutscene where you meet Captain Thomas and his soldiers.
Choose Starting Class
For your starting class, you can choose from three classes: Soldier, Adviser, and Scout. You can go with any of them and level up later while exploring the game.
During this encounter, the player engages in a persuasion dialogue with Captain Thomas, where the correct choices are either offering an alliance or questioning if they look like bandits.
While choosing the first and second dialogue, “As envoys, we’re offering an alliance,” or “Do we really look like bandits to you?” increases your reputation with Captain Thomas, the third option (Soldiers) is incorrect and results in losing your reputation.
You will reach the camp once you end your conversation with Captain Thomas. There is an optional objective in the camp where you can feed the barking dog.
This involves interacting with an old man named Oats to obtain a sausage through dialogue or winning a dice game against Tankard.
After getting the sausage, you can feed the dog to complete the side objective at the camp and head out to talk to Sir Hans.
Then, get ready by equipping the Training Longsword from the inventory before engaging in a sword-fighting tutorial with Sir Hans.
The Duel with Sir Hans
A highlight of this quest is the challenging duel with Sir Hans Capon. You can draw the sword and follow the prompt to engage in battle.
After you begin the fight, the shield indicators are the main focus you must follow to make victory over Sir Hans.
Wait for the green shield indicator to appear in the screen’s center, then execute a perfect parry. When you see the blue icon, that’s your moment to strike.
Maintain a full stamina bar between exchanges, and you’ll eventually wear him down. You must be patient while in the battle, as it lasts for about five minutes.
Interestingly, you can earn a missable trophy/achievement called “Déjà Vu” after defeating Capon during the practice session.
After the duel ends, the player participates in a fireside conversation where they can choose three skills to level up immediately.
Completing the cutscene will lead you to the lake with Sir Hans, where you will hear girls at a distance. As you reach the bank of the lake, Crouch with Sir Hans to reach the girl washing clothes.
You will have two options to make the girl run away, either by throwing stones or running immediately towards her. Head towards left with Sir Hans to encounter another cutscene.
Suddenly, the camp is ambushed by bandits who kill the comrades and attack the girls. During this chaos, the player attempts to help a girl but gets shot in the back with an arrow.
The player and Hans escape by swimming across the lake. They flee through the woods, avoiding archers while trying to remain stealthy.
Finding Sir Hans In The Rocks
After a harrowing escape across a lake, you’ll need to find a safe path through treacherous rocks. The optimal route requires first exploring the left path, which leads to a dead end.
Upon returning, you’ll discover Sir Hans has moved ahead. The right path, while initially confusing, eventually leads to Sir Hans.
If you take the right path at the beginning, you will get stuck in the circle in a loop, making it difficult to escape.
After that, follow Hans to approach the Fallen tree, where he stops. At this location, an enemy will attack you no matter if you lost or won previously.
Along with the enemy, you will fall from the cliff with a cutscene leading to the next quest of the game.
